Revelation 14: The Lamb and the 144,000

Good evening, welcome to our Tuesday Night Bible Study. Tonight, we begin our study of Revelation 14. In the previous chapters, we read about the seven seals of judgment, and Satan’s 1,000 year reign; but his reign is fast coming to a close. The wrath of God has been invoked in the earth, and those of us who believe and have faith in God and in The One whom He sent are able to see it through our spiritual eyes, and through what is written in the word of God concerning the end times (Matthew 16:1-4; Daniel 12:1-3; Matthew 24:6-8,21-22,29-31; Revelation 22:6-11).

 

God gave Jesus Christ reign and rule over all He created, and Jesus Christ revealed to those who have not been blinded by the god of this world, the ability to know and understand things that have, and are coming to pass. In Chapter 14, we will read to gain wisdom, knowledge and understanding through God’s enlightenment of our hearts, minds, and souls, concerning what was, and is, and is to come. The topics we will be reading and discussing in this study are as follows:

 

• The Lamb and the 144,000 (verses 1-5; reference Revelation 7:1-8; Revelation 7:9-17; Revelation 3:5)

• The Proclamations of Three Angels (verses 6-13)

• Reaping the Earth’s Harvest (verses 14-16)

• Reaping the Grapes of Wrath (verses 17-20)

 

God Knows the Intent of Each Heart

• Genesis 6:5-8; Genesis 8:20-22  (Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually)

• John 2:23-25 (But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men)

• Psalm 44:20-22; Psalm 66:18 (If we had forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a foreign god, would not God search this out; for He knows the secrets of the heart)

• Psalm 139:13-18,23-24 (For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made)

• 1 Chronicles 28:9; Proverbs 16:9; Psalm 103:14 (....for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts)

• Jeremiah 17:9-10 (The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it)

• Nahum 1:6-7 (Who can stand before His indignation, and who can endure the fierceness of His anger)

• 1 Kings 8:37-40 (....give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men...)

• 2 Corinthians 5:9-11 (For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad)
