OPENING YOUR HEART TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD SALVATION

Matthew 11:27-30 - Jesus said, all things are delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls; for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

STUDY TOPIC FOR TONIGHT

Numbers 2: The Tribes and Leaders by Armies

( picking up with verses 18-24 )

Tonight we continue our study in the Book of Numbers. The Book of Numbers records the experiences, rebellions, and faithfulness of the Israelites as they wondered through the wilderness for 40 years. We will be reading and discussing Chapter 2.

In addition, we will begin to familiarize ourselves with the 12 tribes of Israel, with their descendants, and the fate of those who rebelled against the Lord. In doing so, we will also learn and understand more about the Lord our God, and the plan He has for His people.

The arrangement of the twelve tribes around the tabernacle:

  • On the East - the tribes of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun (186,400); verses 1-9

  • On the South - the tribes of Gad, Reuben, and Simeon (151,450); ; verses 10-17.

  • On the West - the tribes of Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh (108,100); ; verses 18-24.

  • On the North - the tribes of Asher, Dan, and Naphtali (157,600); ; verses 25-31.
