Romans 10:13-18 - For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things. But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? So then; faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, have they not heard?  Yes indeed; their sound has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.

STUDY TOPIC FOR TONIGHT

Revelation 4:  The Throne Room of Heaven

Good evening, welcome to our Tuesday Night Bible Study. Tonight, we begin our study of Revelation 4. In this chapter, John sees a vision of the throne room of heaven as well as what worship in heaven actually looks like. In this study we will soon come to realize that the earthly temple and worship we see here on the earth is different from the heavenly temple and worship John saw in the vision shown to him, although it should be. The topics we will be discussing are as follows:

  • John Sees the One Seated on the Throne

  • John See the Twenty-Four Elders

  • John Sees the Four Living Creatures

In the Word of God, He tells us that those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. God is seeking such worship from His people, but this is not what is being given (John 4:23-24; Psalm 24:1-10). We have read that a door was opened in heaven, a door that no man can shut; but do we truly understand  the meaning of the door that was opened that no man can shut (John 10:7-30). This chapter emphasizes God's supreme authority, and the authority He gave our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:9-18); it also serves as a transition to the events that will unfold in the rest of the Book of Revelation.
